For the first time in history The Eagle's Women Basketball are off the the CCAA National Championship!

After a fantastic weekend in Calgary earning a silver medal at provincials the women's team prepares for the next championship.

We asked coached Brian his thoughts on this experience:

How were provincials this year and thoughts on ending with a silver medal?

Coach Brian - Our playoffs were exciting for sure. Having a home playoff game against our cross river rivals the Concordia Thunder was a very exciting experience for everyone involved and in attendance. That win catapulted us into the ACAC final four and a game with the host St.Mary?s Lightning. I was so grateful for the work Assistant Head Coach Torey Hill did in preparing our girls for this game. Our Eagles led from start to finish taking out the home team lighting 66-59. Wow, next up was a chance at an ACAC championship, but unfortunately in the way was the Lakeland Rustlers the number one ranked team in the country. Our Eagles played their hearts out, winning the second half, but not by enough as we settled for a Silver medal finish. Excited and proud of our thirteen athletes and five coaches to be the first Eagles Women?s team to play in the final and to bring Silver and a banner back to The King?s University.

What is on the team?s mind heading into the program?s first national championship?

Coach Brian - we?ve said since day one this year that ?We?re in it to Win it.? We want and prepare to win every game, league, playoff or the National Championship, we want to win. Our coaching staff continues to work real hard preparing our athletes mentally and physically for the championships. What ever happens, I know everyone will be giving their best and playing their hardest. If we do that anything is possible.

Thanks Brian! and Best of luck at Nationals!

Go Eagles!
