Student Worker Positions

Each year the athletics department has student job opportunities varying in many different positions and duties. The following is the breakdown for the positions available:

Game Day Staff

• Approximately 10-12 hours per week.
• Specific Positions: Admission/concession, score clock, score sheet, statistics, announcing and videography.
• Requirements: Experience at the high school and/or university level is an asset.

Event Manager

• Approximately 10-15hours per week.
• Duties: Management of game day staff, set up and takedown of gym equipment for home basketball and volleyball games. Aid in the management of home soccer games, as well as other duties as assigned.
• Requirements: Game Day management and sports knowledge, previous GDS experience, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities are assets.

Athletics Student Worker

• Approximately 4-6 hours per week.
• Duties:  Laundry and First-aid Supplies management and inventory, Clean and organizing equipment rooms, cleaning and organizing fitness room, post weekly stats, schedules, and results, athletes of the week, upcoming home games, and various other athletics needs.

Media Relations

• Approximately 4-6 hours per week.
• Duties:  Manage social media accounts, update events such as upcoming home games, and recap articles for home games after completion. Interview for post and pregame articles to post on the website.
• Requirements: Social media training, protocol, and experience, as well as writing/journalism experience, is an asset.
