New Recruit for Women's Basketball

Rhianna Qeeley

The King's University and Eagle's Basketball are excited to announce and welcome Rhianna Queeley from M.E. Lazerte High School and Swoosh Club Basketball to The King's University Eagles.

Rhianna is a first generation Canadian from Northeast Edmonton.  Both of her parents immigrated to Canada when they were both very young, Mom coming from Ghana and Dad coming from England.

Rhianna naturally gravitated to physical activity at an early age as she grew up in the gym where both her parents were fitness instructors.  From the age of 3 Rhianna participated in swimming, skating, ballet, jazz, tap, musical theatre, gymnastics, soccer and eventually landed on basketball at age 6.  She played many years of community basketball with Edmonton's Northeast community Basketball Association.  Wanting the challenge, Rhianna eventually sought out club basketball and has played club basketball since the age of 10.

Rhianna was active on her junior high volleyball and basketball teams at Edmonton Christian School NE where she was named female MVP in her final year.

In her high school years at M.E. Lazerte Rhianna has played on the senior basketball, rugby teams and participated in Olympic lifting as well.  Rhianna always takes pride in her studies and works hard to maintain honors as her goal is to become a forensic pathologist.

Rhianna really comes alive when she's out on the court or when she's talking about a random Netflix series she has come across.  Other interests include trying out new recipes and hanging out with family and friends.

"Again, we are so excited to have signed Rhianna to play Eagles Basketball come September 2023. We know she will be a great fit with our current athletes as she's been out to many of our Eagle camps and has got to know our players and coaches. Rhianna has a great support system with an awesome family and we welcome the entire Queeley family to our Eagle's family."
