EDMONTON, ALTA. - ACAC Badminton Tournament #1 was held at The King's University on Sunday. For the first time in program history, it was the Eagles who came out on top in team points.
TKU finished in first place with 177 points, second place was the Concordia Thunder at 112, third was NAIT Ooks with 109 and Olds Broncos finished fourth with 26 points.
It was the hosts who stole the spotlight in overall competition, placing first in three of five events (men's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles), while the Thunder took Women's singles and Women's doubles. NAIT took second-place finishes in men's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles. The atmosphere around the first ACAC tournament since COVID was palpable, and excited filled the air. Regardless of results, joy was seen throughout the gym, just to be back competing. The next ACAC badminton tournament will be held at NAIT on February 6th.
